Vanita Patel has joined the team as telesales and account manager. We are happy to have Vanita onboard and have asked her a few questions so that you can get to know her too.
1. What is your role at Hollinbay and why did it appeal to you?
I have joined the new business team at Hollinbay and will primarily lead on making appointments to introduce the business to potential partners and make the right first impression.
Although the IT industry is something totally new to me, new business has always given me a buzz… and job satisfaction! Hollinbay has gone through a fantastic transformation and I want to be on this exciting journey and grow as the business does.
On a more personal note, I got a really good feeling about the business and felt that Robert and Louise truly care for their employees and want them to do well. They made me feel really welcomed and part as the team from the very first day.
2. Before working at Hollinbay, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
I worked at World Duty Free Group which was unusual and interesting because I had to train my body to wake up at 1.30am! Dealing with the public at that time in the morning is not always a good thing as they can be a little big grumpy when they are tired!
It is also really interesting to see what goes on behind the scenes before a flight goes out and the protocol behind everything that comes in and out of the airport.
3. What is the best thing so far about working for Hollinbay?
The people without a doubt, everyone has been so welcoming and helpful.
4. What is the biggest career lesson you’ve learnt so far?
If you don’t ask, you get don’t get. And to remain focused and recognise there is always room to learn.
5. If you could do another job just for one day, what would it be?
I’d be a teacher and then I could be bossy all day.
6. If you could meet anyone in the world, alive or dead, who would it be?
Gandhi, a fellow Indian like me. The stories he could tell…
7. Where are you from and what are your hobbies outside of work?
I was born in Lancashire just over the pennies and have been married to a Bradfordian for 25 years so have lived in Yorkshire ever since. Now I just love the people and the scenery here.
Outside work I have a huge family so always have lots of events on that seem to include lots of food and wine. I love travelling and try and go to five or six places a year. My moto in life is “Carpe diem”.
